Knowledge is power.  Yet the more I learn, I’ve come to appreciate the opposite, yet equally powerful notion, that ignorance is bliss.  Learning is a responsibility.  Once you know the truth, you can never be that naive person you once were. 

I’m neither a conservative nor a liberal.  I’m a realist.  I believe political correctness is a bane upon society.  I’m a proud American yet realize that American society is becoming dumber and lazier as we give in to our material impulses and lose our capacity to think critically. 

The United States is a great country.  Sadly, too many of those that live in this country take for granted the freedoms and liberties we enjoy as citizens of our great nation.  Too many people are either unwilling, or unable, to identify the issues that impact us on a daily basis.  If we as a nation spent as much time and interest on fixing the issues of this country as we do on keeping up with the Kardashians we’d be well on our way to rectifying that which ails this country.
